Neerja Bajaj, a corporate trainer and facilitator, is a post graduate in Economics and English and has taught English and Social Sciences at various schools, colleges and at University level for over three decades. She has worked at the International Centre, University of Pune, teaching English to foreign students and has also been a Visiting Faculty in various Business Schools in Pune, teaching Business Communication. She is currently a Corporate Trainer and provides training in Soft Skills, Business Communication and Cross Cultural Communication to various IT Companies.
A multi faceted lady, Neerja is also the current President of Soroptimist International, Pune Metro East,(SIPME) an International NGO of working and professional women. The NGO has representation in the UN and works for the benefit of women and the girl child. She has initiated Projects like Prevention of Violence against Women called the “ONE BILLION RISE” which regularly conducts workshops on and ‘Gender Sensitization’ to create awareness about gender based violence and “Anger Management and Conflict Resolution” to help educate women to handle domestic situations which could lead to potential Domestic Violence.
She is the Director Community Education and coordinates the activities of Aks Foundation. Aks has been founded by her daughter, Barkha Bajaj, a trained psychologist and a trauma specialist. The mother daughter duo are working relentlessly towards spreading awareness about the ills of domestic violence and providing succor to victims in order to empower them to become survivors.
She was recently awared Achiever of the Year, 2014 by Sundarji Institutions, Pune for her relentless work in the field of gender based violence.
