Founder & President
Barkha is an independent mental health practitioner and also the Founder & Executive Director of Aks Foundation. She has trained in the US and specializes in gender-based issues.
Barkha was part of Texas Woman’s university in the US where she led Project REV-Resources for Ending violence. As part of REV- she trained college students on various aspects of gender and gender-based violence.
A trained psychologist, Barkha has worked with Mercedes Benz International School for over 8 years. She was the Head of the Department of Psychology and also taught Psychology for 5 years. She designed the Personal Health and Social Education (PHSE) curriculum and taught it across the school, from grade 1 to 12. Passionate about gender equality she started the Aks Crisis Lines in 2013 and since then has trained at schools and colleges on Gender Awareness, Sensitization and Child Safety & Protection, including Indus, MUWCI, Gyan Ankur, KV’s and Dastur School.
